Mitchell is Founder and President of M Group, a real estate investment
and development company based in Birmingham, Michigan. He is responsible
for overseeing all aspects of the Company's investment and development
activity.
In February of 2009, Mitchell was appointed to the Board of
Directors of the Michigan Strategic Fund by Governor Jennifer
Granholm. He is a Director of Paramount Bank, a Michigan-based
mortgage and commercial bank. He also serves as a member of
the Board of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and the Advisory
Board of the Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies
at the University of Michigan. Mitchell is a former member of
the Board of the Jewish Federation of Metro Detroit and the
past President of the Michigan Venture Capital Association.
Prior to founding M Group, Mitchell held the position of Vice
President of Stores and Customer Service for Highland Superstores,
Inc., a publicly held, 92-store chain of consumer electronics
and appliance stores. Mitchell served as CEO of Teamplayers,
a personnel staffing company headquartered in Michigan and a
portfolio company of M Group prior to its sale in late 1998.
Mitchell is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and American
Bar Association. He received his J.D. degree and M.B.A concurrently
from the University of Michigan Law and Business schools. Mitchell
received a B.A. in English, with Distinction, from the University
of Michigan.
