Hal Davis invests in young companies with high growth potential
and coaches young CEO’s. He is currently focused on
bringing new technologies to the energy sector. He also consults with a variety
of organizations on issues of marketing strategy, corporate development,
and leadership. He occasionally lectures on new business creation
at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University
of Michigan and various industry events.
Hal was founder, CEO, and Chairman of BlueGill Technologies.
Founded in 1996, the company grew to dominate the Internet billing
software industry and was sold to CheckFree for $250,000,000
in early 2000. Previous to BlueGill, Hal held senior market
positions at several high technology companies including Interface
Systems (acquired by Tumbleweed Communications), KMS Fusion,
and Covalent Technology, Inc.
Hal is an active supporter and volunteers at numerous non-profit
organizations focused on environmental issues and the performing
arts. He serves on the board of numerous corporations and non-profit
organizations including Janeeva Inc., Coreworx Inc., Spirit Shop,
University of Michigan Biological Station, University Musical Society, The Ark, and the Samuel
Zell & Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies.
Hal received his MBA from the University of Michigan (1985).
