Since joining the Morgenthaler firm in 1984, Paul Brentlinger has served as a Partner in three of the firm’s partnerships. In this role, he managed several successful venture capital investments, including Microchip Technology, Dispatch Communications, Magma Copper, Wastequip, and Distribution Management Systems (DMS). Before joining Morgenthaler Ventures, Mr. Brentlinger held the position of Senior Vice President-Finance at Harris Corporation, a major manufacturer of information technology equipment and systems.
Mr. Brentlinger is a former member of the Boards of Directors of Ferro Corporation, Teledyne Technologies, Allegheny Technologies (where he chaired the Technology Committee), and Microchip Technology. He is presently a member (and former Chairman) of the Board of Hypres, Inc. and honorary board member (and former chairman) of the Cleveland Institute of Art. Recently he became a member of the President’s Visiting Committee at Case Western Reserve University.
At the Michigan Business School, Mr. Brentlinger was a founding member of the Wolverine Venture Fund and former Chairman of the Advisory Board of the William A. Paton Fund. He has also served as President of the University of Michigan Club of Cleveland. Mr. Brentlinger received his BA (1950) and MBA (1951) degrees with distinction from the University of Michigan.
