Join us!The 2010 public symposium is expected to bring together 300 attendees comprised of students and members of the business community. The symposium serves as an excellent platform for the free exchange of new venture ideas and the atmosphere thrives with valuable relationship and networking, offering access to leading entrepreneurs. The symposium is presented by the Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Ross School of Business and the Entrepreneur & Venture Club.

Thursday, September 16
5:00-5:45 p.m. - Keynote speaker
Vishen Lakhiani, Founder of MindValley

A U-M graduate and one of the world's most sought after speakers on internet business building and company culture.

5:45-6:15 - Pitch Competition

Students will have 90 seconds to pitch the audience and a panel of judges, comprised of investors, about their incredible business idea. A cash prize of $250 will be awarded to the winner.

Jeffrey Williams (MBA '92), President and CEO of Accuri Cytometers
Prior to Accuri, as the former President and CEO of Ann Arbor based HandyLab, Inc., he led the growth and financing of the company, ultimately resulting in a sale to Becton, Dickinson & Company for $275 million in November 2009.
 
9:25-11:40 a.m. - Panel discussions will focus on topics including, 'Growing Your Business', 'Financing Your Business', 'Social Entrepreneurial Enterprises', and 'Cleantech Start-ups'.

11:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m. -Lunch & Learn Networking Session
Open to all U-M students where they can meet one-on-one with entrepreneurs and investors.
